What you will find in this blog

Crafts, recipes, tips and tricks around the house. In olden days, as far back as 1950 if you can imagine, there would be a great many things that your mother would teach you so that you might one day be a good housewife. A lot of those things have fallen away. Mostly because you no longer NEED to know them, like how to decorate a cake or quilt a blanket. But just because you don’t need to know these things doesn’t mean they aren’t fun to know. Most of the things I’ll be showing you are things that I’ve found helpful in my life or that I just wanted to learn. You can also find links to buy kits for making the crafts you see here or the project already completed. So ENJOY!!!

New Year's Resolutions

Did I spell that right?  Never mind, I don't care.

I don't, in general, make new year's resolutions.  I don't see much point to them.  I'm in a more or less constant state of reevaluating myself.  The idea that I would wait until January 1 to change my bad habits seems like a long time to wait.  But I do like the idea of a new year.  Brand new.  Anything can happen.  Clean slate.  Start again.  Reboot.  So I guess in a way I do like resolutions.  It's such a good time to think about how things went in the last year.  What you wanted to happen and how that matched up with what actually happened.  I complain a lot about 2010 but it wasn't all bad and I'm excited about the groundwork layed that will serve me in this coming year.

So here goes with setting some goals for the next year.

1- I would like to lose 25 lbs.  I really felt my best at the weight I was 25 lbs ago and would like to be there again.  I will keep you dorks posted on the progress.  So far, the exercising is at least off to a GREAT start.

2- I would like to book a National Commercial.  I have been working hard and think that I am in a great place to make this happen.

3- I would like to get paid for comedy.  I'm not sure if this is a realistic goal for where I am with my stand up but I'm setting it and we'll see what happens.  So some time in the next year we'll see if someone wants to pay me for making funny.

4- I would also like to rewrite/recover the play I wrote that was stolen with my laptop.

I wrote a number five but really couldn't think of anything to write.  Am I that contented with my life that I can really only think of four things that I would like to happen?  Craziness.  Who knows I could get all four of these in the next three months and I'll have to reevaluate all over again.  Luckily, I won't have to wait until next Jan. 1
